JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Herman Pickens is believed to be the alleged July 8 Mojo's shooter, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Chief of Detectives Annie Smith.
At the press conference Friday afternoon, Smith said they are not charging Pickens at this time.
According to JSO, the charges are not being filed because they do not want to rush process since he is in custody at this time for the CVS shooting that occurred the same day. This will allow JSO to gather all the evidence before pursuing the murder charges.
JSO held the press conference to give residents of Avondale a peace of mind because they are confident Pickens is the one involved and in custody.
