JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a call on July 18 regarding a man who put down a suspicious package at the JTA Bus Station near downtown and then left.
Police ordered a bomb squad call out around 11:50 a.m. and shut down State Street and Union Street between Laura and Pearl for two hours to investigate for possible explosives.
It was revealed at 11:56 a.m. that the man who owned the belongings put his stuff down to hide for safekeeping. When he returned to claim his items, JSO confirmed it was safe, began clearing the scene and ordered to open traffic back up.
