ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Several items were discovered missing from a residence Wednesday evening, according to a St. Johns County Sheriff's Office press release.

The release detailed that the relative of suspect Christopher Michael Chambliss, 27, reported missing two flat screen TVs, a gaming system, as well as several games, DVDs, and firearms.

Chambliss first allegedly denied involvement and later confessed that he staged the burglary in an effort to steal and pawn the guns, the release detailed.

In the report, Chambliss drove his relative to a nearby wooded area where he disposed of some the items.

Chambliss told SJCSO officers that he allegedly threw six to seven guns into a ditch off Allen Nease Road. The SJCSO Dive Team found 13 guns in the ditch, which were returned to the home.

Chambliss is being held in the St. Johns County Jail and charged with six counts of grand theft of a firearm and grand theft.

The SJCSO is continuing to investigate the incident.
