JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It's a classic Broadway hit and this weekend, you can enjoy the production and watch the rising young stars from the First Coast.

"How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" runs August 2nd through August 4th. (Sunday is the matinee.) The production is at Florida State College at Jacksonville's Wilson Center on the South Campus off Beach Boulevard.

Beth Harvey, who's basically the mama and the angel and the director of the program, believes high school students need an opportunity to practice their talents as they transition to the college and professional world.

Harvey brings in technical union workers, college students, recent graduates and professional choreographers to guide the students through the weeks and weeks of practice.

Harvey said this year, the summer musical program drew 140 students from area high schools to audition. Fifty were selected to perform in the musical. Students also came to develop their skills in technical areas from props to scenic design.

The musical is about a window washer who decides he'd like to become president of an international company in a matter of weeks.

If you'd like to purchase tickets, you still have a chance. The price is $25 and there are discounts for children, seniors, veterans and groups of 10 or more.

Proceeds go back into the annual summer theater program.
