JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The first time the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported to the 3100 block of Nolan Street on Saturday it was in response to a verbal altercation.
After leaving, an hour later JSO returned to find a man shot in the street.
Ronnie Lee Washington, 24, was found in the street suffering from a single gunshot wound around 5:15 p.m., according to Sgt. Dan Janson.
Washington was transferred to UF Health were he succumbed to his injuries.
According to witnesses Washington was involved in the altercation that took place earlier in the day.
The argument erupted again after police left, according to Janson.
Witnesses have provided several names of people involved in the incident, according to Janson, but he would not expound on those indicated.
