UPDATE, 8/5/13: Norris Wendell Richardson has been taken into custody by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, according to a Facebook posting from the Gainesville Police Department.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gainesville Police Department is looking for a Jacksonville man who is one of three suspects in the burglary of the Best Buy on Southwest Archer Road.
Norris Wendell Richardson, 24, also known as "Fefe," was found to be the driver/lookout in the attempted burglary of nearly $27,000 worth of iPads and computers, which were all recovered by police, according to a Facebook posting by the Gainesville Police Department.
Police were called to the store around 3:09 a.m. after an alarm went off. A GPD officer found a hole had been made at the back of the store by a sledgehammer, at which point several other officers and deputies from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office responded.
The two suspects fled on foot and police apprehended one suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile who later identified Richardson as the lookout.
Near the juvenile's path, a vehicle stolen out of Jacksonville was found.
Police continued looking for the other suspect, 22-year-old Breyon "Smoke Lotto" Gilbert, in a perimeter around the old Windmeadows Mobile Home Park, the post detailed.
Gilbert, who turned himself into the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in 2011 for burglarizing Best Buy stores, was detected by his "heat signature" on radar by helicopter. He had been hiding underwater in the woods and the heat detected by radar was him coming up for air.
Gilbert was located at 7:05 a.m., apprehended by a K-9 and taken to Shands Gainesville for his injuries.
According to GPD, Richardson likely does not have a way to get back to Jacksonville. If you see him, you are asked to call 911 or (352) 955-1818.
