JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman was struck by a car after a dog behind a fence scared her into on-coming traffic on Kings Road Sunday night.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, three women were walking east on the sidewalk along Kings Road around 9 p.m.
A dog behind a fence next to them startled one of the women. Her reaction to the dog sent her into the road where she was struck by a car, according to JSO.
The victim, who is between the ages of 18-25, was transported to UF Health in life-threatening condition.
The victim's two friends were not injured.
According to JSO, the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
