Neighbor Tammy Limbreton shows FCN the pool where Jazmine Shelton used to swim.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office counted 27 bullet holes in the home where 13-year old Jazmine Shelton was killed in her living room. Megan Simmons critically injured in the drive-by.
Neighbor Mike Donnally lives two doors down from where the shooting took place, and he heard it all.
"I heard around 15 seconds of about 30 rounds of shots being fired around 4:43 in the morning. And everything went quiet after that, until the police arrived. It is a shame, it's a doggone shame and it shouldn't have come to this," Donnally said.
"Those bullets sounded like fourth of July and I will never forget it," neighbor Tammy Limbreton said. "I was scared to death."
Limbreton had known Shelton since she was born, and met Megan Simpson earlier this summer.
According to Limberton, the two girls swam in her backyard pool every weekend, and she gave the girls a movie to watch, the movie they were watching when they were shot.
Limberton said she walked her dog with both of the girls the day before the shooting.
"Both of them told me bye and I never knew that would be the last time they would walk with me down the street, because they walked with me every day with my dog," Limberton said.
Lembreton hopes the police make an arrest soon.
"Her momma to see her laying like that dead, I don';t know how her momma is going to make it because her momma has health problems. This is just, awful," said Lembreton.
Limbreton says Simmons is a sweet, quiet, girl and Jazmine's best friend.
"I prayed for her last night, I am still praying, thinking about her. It's just broke my heart," Limbreton said.
