PALATKA, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed person in the 300 block of Peniel Road on August 11.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office press release, Deputy T.J. Appleby and Deputy William Adams arrived to the home and met with the victim. The victim said that her boyfriend allegedly pushed her to the ground and pointed a .22 caliber Ruger revolver to her head.
Deputies found Lamar Lucas, 67, in the home with a gun in his possession.
The release said the victim had been living with Lucas for seven months before asking him to move out. The locks where changed, but Lucas entered the residence by breaking a window. Lucas waited in the living room of the residence for the victim to return home from BINGO, according to the release.
During an argument Lucas allegedly displayed the weapon and threatened the victim by saying, "I'll shoot you."
The investigation revealed that Lucas parked his Xterra about one mile away and walked to the home. Lucas also has a non-expiring injunction for protection against him by another party and he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
The release said Lucas was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, battery, and possession of a weapon in violation of an order for protection. Lucas was transported to the Putnam County Jail and has a $30,012 bond.
PCSO Sheriff Jeff Hardy said, "Domestic violence of any kind is not acceptable. Fortunately, no one was physically hurt during this incident."
