JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Portions of Arlington Expressway will close for JEA roadwork Sunday evening.
According to a press release, a JEA contractor will close portions of the Arlington Expressway and the North Arlington Expressway Service Road for milling and resurfacing.
The closure begins at 5 p.m. and will reopen Monday at around 6 a.m.
Electronic message boards have been placed in advance about the closures as well as detour signs are set up to guide drivers around the construction area.
The release detailed that the roadwork is part of JEA's Total Water Management Plan project, which involves building a pipeline to transfer water from the west side of the St. Johns River to the east side of the river through the Arlington area, ending near Bradley and Cortez Roads.
