JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 14-year-old is dead after officers say he was hit while riding his bike early Saturday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Dquan Armstrong was struck and killed shortly before 1 a.m. while riding his bike southbound in the roadway of the 9100 block of Sibbald Road alongside two pedestrians, according to a JSO news release.
A vehicle driving along Sibbald Rd in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood hit Armstrong's bike, throwing him into a roadside ditch, the release says.
The driver did not stop, but the release says they were located at a nearby residence and identified.
Police say the driver has not been charged at this point of the ongoing investigation. Detectives currently are looking for additional witnesses to the deadly crash.
