JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A juvenile has been arrested for the June 6 death of Arzjahwun McGauley, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

First Coast News is not naming the suspect charged due to the fact that he is a juvenile and it is not yet known if he will be tried as an adult.

Around 10:30 p.m. neighbors in the 2900 block of Carleon Road reported hearing gunshots. Witnesses reported that they saw two suspects running from the scene after the shooting.

The report said McGauley, 18, was riding on a bicycle when he was shot in the chest. He received treatment for his injuries at UF Health Jacksonville where he later died.

The Medical Examiner's Office determined that the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the chest and the manner of death determined to be homicide.

The victim's phone recorders concluded that the suspect was the last person McGauley contacted. The release said the suspect's phone records determined that he allegedly implicated himself in the case to an unidentified independent witness.

According to the witness in the report, the suspect allegedly said, "He just ganked a nigga."

JSO said in a press conference that they believe the incident was related to drugs because marijuana was found at the scene.

The suspect was arrested at his home and charged with murder. He is being held at the Duval County Jail.
