Ernest Larry Grandison is wanted in connection with a Lake City robbery and shooting.
COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A murder suspect has been arrested by the Louisiana Jefferson Parrish Sheriff's Office and United States Marshal Service Fugitive apprehension team.
According to a Columbia County Sheriff's Office press release, Ernest Larry Grandison was arrested Thursday morning.
Grandison, 43, allegedly robbed an A&M Discount Beverage located at 394 East Duval Street in Lake City, Florida, on April 27, 2012. Grandison allegedly fatally shot Rajnikant Patel during the robbery, the release said.
An Investigator from the State's Attorney's Office contacted a Columbia County Sheriff's Office detective about the possible whereabouts of Grandison on August 15, 2013.
The unidentified detective, who is also a sworn Task Force Officer for the US Marshal Service, developed crucial intelligence that led to Grandison's capture as he came out of a residence in Louisiana.
Grandison is charged with first degree murder and armed robbery.
