JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man, working around a retention pond near Everbank Field, nearly drowned Wednesday morning.
The man was pinned underneath the lawnmower underwater for an unknown amount to time.
Coincidentally, a good Samaritan by the name of Bobby Bryant was driving by on his way to work and saw what was happening and stopped to help.
Bryant jumped in the water, attempting to lift the mower but realized it was too heavy. He then yelled for help, and more witnesses including the man's co-workers went to assist in the man's recovery.
Once the man was removed from the pond, one of his co-workers performed CPR.
According to witnesses, he was alive when the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department transported him to the hospital.
The identity of the man is currently unknown.
