Missing 89-year-old Jacksonville man with dementia found safe

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has found a man with dementia who went missing Friday at 1:45 p.m.

Benjamin Jones, 89, was last seen leaving the Country Cabin Restaurant, located at 1401 Dunn Avenue, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Facebook post. Jones was at the restaurant with his daughter in-law for lunch.

Jones was following her home, driving his 1993 Turquoise Crown Victoria. During the drive, Jones and his daughter-in-law got separated.

According to JSO Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley, Jones was driving around lost when he pulled into the Hardee's near J. Turner Butler Boulevard when a patrol officer spotted him.
