JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Coach Brian McCrae is fighting for a win every time he and the Bishop Snyder Cardinals take the field, because it's all eyes on them for the next three hours as the players fight for a touchdown.

But after getting into an accident in December of 2012 Coach McCrae was forced to have three surgeries and two rods placed in his back to help him walk. His last stint of post operation, bed rest started on May 20 the same day Moore, Oklahoma, was hit by an EF-5 tornado.

"I look up at the TV and I see fields with nothing, everything is just flattened turn it up and they're talking about Oklahoma," said McCrae.

The images of the 17-mile path of splintered wood and destroyed homes hit the coach hard so he put a Facebook page together called "sooner equipped" and started asking for donations. The donations were to help rebuild the Moore High School football program.

"I have a trailer with 8,000-9,000 pounds of equipment right now," McCrae said.

But, Coach McCrae wants more. The goal is to collect 60-thousands pounds of weight room equipment and to fill up a semi-truck by the end of the year.

"Football is a great healer for a lot of communities in Florida and I imagine the same way for Oklahoma," McCrae said.
