JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Sheltair, an aviation development company by Jacksonville International Airport, is joining the Apple Project. Customers and employees are finding apple pie, apple juice, applesauce and other goodies in their lobby.
Kirk Svoboda, General Manager in Jacksonville, is seeing people stop and ask questions about what's happening. When they find out it's all to raise money for the Apple Project, they drop in some loose change or loose bills in the apple donation jar.
The Apple Project is all about raising funds to build a free dental clinic in Jacksonville for uninsured, low income adults and children.
Svoboda said he encourages other businesses to help raise the funds. With the Weaver Foundation challenge grant, if your office raises, say $50 from serving apple pie, you're actually donating $100.
The Weaver Foundation matches donations up to $100,000.
