JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Muscular Dystrophy Association held its annual Lock-up fundraiser in Jacksonville on Thursday.
City leaders are arrested and booked, and then have to call their friends and family for "bail" which all goes toward MDA.
"It helps people like me," said 10-year-old Hope Herring. "It's raises money for people like me to help find a cure and send kids to camp."
They say it takes about $800 to send one kid to camp, something Herring says she looks forward to each year.
"It's very awesome because you get to meet people just like you and no one gives you dirty looks or makes fun of you," she said. "No one makes fun of your disease or how your feet look, it's just awesome."
