JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Congressional hearing in Washington, D.C. that was to feature the mother of Jordan Davis has been postponed.

Davis' mother, Lucia McBath, has become an outspoken opponent of Florida's controversial Stand Your Ground Law.

She was scheduled to testify about the legislation before a U.S. Senate committee Tuesday morning along with the mother of Trayvon Martin, Sabrina Fulton.

However, according to the Washington Post, the hearing was postponed in light of the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard shooting Monday. The date of the hearing has not been set at this time.

Michael Dunn is accused of shooting and killing Jordan Davis, 17, after a dispute over loud music at a southside gas station last November.

The Stand Your Ground law in certain states can allow someone to use deadly force to defend themselves without the need to remove themselves the dangerous situation.
