CALLAHAN, Fla. -- A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for the town of Callahan.
According to a Nassau County news release, a water main break is the reason for the boil water notice. The water main break occurred at U.S. Highway 1 and SR 200/301, which resulted in a loss of water pressure.
The release advises that all water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled. The water should boil for at least one minute. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
The notice will stay in effect until a bacteriological survey is conducted and deems the water safe.
