PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A 3-year-old child was hit by a truck in Putnam County Wednesday.
Luckily, the child survived with only minor injuries.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the white GMC C2500 was pulling a trailer and traveling north on S. CR 21 around 2 p.m.
The young child was with his Uncle on the west shoulder when he darted across the roadway towards his Grandmother on the east shoulder.
The driver of the pickup was unable to stop in time. The child was struck and propelled off the roadway, according to FHP.
The child was transported to UF Shands in Gainesville for treatment.
According to FHP, alcohol was not a factor.
