Artiez Simon Ingram, 24 (L) Reginald Louis Smith, 24 (R)
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A verbal altercation over drugs that led to a shooting in August lands two in jail.
Assistant Chief of Investigations Chris Butler with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office provided new details Friday in the shooting death of Ronnie Lee Washington on August 3.
A second suspect, 24-year-old Reginald Louis Smith, was arrested Thursday in connection with Washington's death.
Smith is accused of using a hand gun to keep friends and family members from coming to the aid of Washington during a series of fights that broke out between Washington and an additional suspect already custody for the crime, Artiez Simon Ingram, 24.
Ingram and Washington had been repeatedly fist fighting over drugs according to Chief Butler.
When the shooting occurred, Washington had allegedly appologized to Ingram and was running away when he was shot in the back by Ingram, Chief Butler detailed.
Washington was found with a single gunshot wound in the 3100 block of Nolan Street and was taken to UF Health Jacksonville where he later died.
Ingram turned himself into JSO on August 6, while Smith remained at large until Thursday.
Smith's criminal history includes charges of criminal mischief, driving without a license, grand theft and resisting an officer.
Smith is charged with murder and aggravated assault for his role in the incident.
