GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A banner plane crashed on the University of Florida campus Saturday afternoon, injuring two.
According to UF's Twitter page, the plane landed upside down on a vacant pickup truck near Flavet Field and both pilots were ejected around 3 p.m.
No additional injuries were reported.
The small plane lost power before crashing, said the Univeristy of Florida Police Department.
The pilots walked away from the crash and were taken to, said UPD.
The small plane was attempting an emergency landing in the field when the crash occurred, said police.
The plane is registered to Beach Banners, Inc. in Jacksonville.
Flavet Field is less than one mile away from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium where the UF football team will be playing the Arkansas Razorbacks at 7 p.m. Saturday night.
