CCSO asking for public's help in identifying suspect believed to have taken wallet

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect in a wallet theft case.

According to a CCSO press release, the suspect is believed to have taken an elderly woman's wallet while she was shopping at Walmart on Blanding Boulevard at around 1 p.m.

The credit cards were used within one hour of the theft to purchase nearly $1,300 worth of merchandise at a nearby Target and Dillard's.

The 78-year-old victim discovered her wallet was stolen and cancelled her credit cards promptly, but the quick-shopping thief had already made the illegal purchases.
