JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There were 683 firearms collected at JSO's Gun Buyback event in Arlington Saturday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Each person who turned in a firearm was given $50, no questions asked.
All the money disseminated was donated by people in the community.
According to JSO, the purpose of the JSO Gun Buyback is to give people a safe way to get rid if a firearm if they no longer wish to have it.
