CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying suspects in a recent shoplifting incident.

According to a CCSO press release, two suspects worked together to allegedly steal car stereos from a locked display case at a Walmart located at 899 Blanding Boulevard.

The suspect was seen standing near the exit sign with merchandise and was told by an employee to move away from the door if the items were not paid for.

A CCSO police report said the suspect moved the shopping cart away from the doors and near the registers. The suspect was then seen walking back-and-forth from the cart to the bakery while on the phone.

When away from the cart, an employee took one of the items from the cart to scan it and placed it back in the cart.

The suspect was then seen by a witness running with two items out the door, hitting it with his forearm and knocking the door off the track.

According to the police report, the officers verified that the merchandise was taken and is worth $496.97.

The suspects observed leaving in a light colored Chevy Impala.

If you know who the suspects might be or have any information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective Damon Hysler at 904-264-6512 with any information.
