JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville International Airport bomb hoax suspect Zeljko Causevic has been indicted on a federal charge of conveying false or misleading information.

The indictment was announced by the office of Acting U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley III in a news release on Tuesday.

Causevic, 39, was booked into the Duval County Jail at 1:30 a.m. October 2 following an arrest by the JAX Airport Police. Authorities say Causevic was arrested at JAX Airport after he allegedly told security screeners he had a bomb in his backpack but they only found an electronic scale and batteries.

The threat caused the airport to be shut down for hours on the evening of October 1.

According to the release from Bentley's office, "an indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed a violation of the federal criminal laws, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty."
