ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A man has been charged with sexual assault after he allegedly took advantage of an acquaintance while she was intoxicated.
Curtis Leroy Williams, 43, was arrested on charges of sexual assault and battery Tuesday afternoon stemming from an incident that occurred early Monday morning.
Williams' victim allegedly flagged down another woman while walking on West King Street early Monday morning. The victim claimed she had been sexually assaulted and was given a ride to the fire station and the St. John's Sheriff's Office was notified.
An investigation revealed that the alleged sexual assault occurred in the early morning hours of Monday at a residence near the suspect's home after the two were hanging out with another friend. The third person left and the victim continued to party and that's when Williams allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.
The victim was transported to Flagler Hospital for treatment.
Williams was booked into the St. John's County Jail where he is being held on a bond of $25,500.
