JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local man was sentenced to three life sentences Thursday for murdering a
pregnant mother, according to the State Attorney's Office.
Details of the press release state that Andrew Wayne King, 27, was found
guilty of killing 23-year-old Felicia Burney and her unborn child in June 2010.
King stabbed Burney in the chest and neck with a knife.
Burney was living in Arlington with King's ex-girlfriend when the murders
took place. She was the mother of three children and was eight months pregnant
when she was killed.
According to evidence, King killed Burney because he believed Burney was
interfering with his relationship with his ex-girlfriend.
King was on probation at the time of the double murder, which was a result
of a previous incident when King kicked down a door at his ex-girlfriend's
King was convicted of murder in the first degree, killing an unborn child
and burglary with assault or battery. He received life in prison on each count with
the sentences running consecutively.
