JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- For the week of October 18, Amber Robbins is our student of the week.
She is a freshman at Florida State College at Jacksonville and was crowned National American Miss Florida Teen in April. She was on the open class winter guard team and involved with the HOPE worldwide charity organization.
Robbins is very ambitions, and wants to start her own program called Under the Crown. She says she hopes it will help give girls with confidence. Robbins says it's important to find a balance between school and other extra curricular activities.
"I find what's important is keeping a really good focus on what's important. School and education are so important in what I want to do for the rest of my life. I need to know how to blend those two together," said Robbins.
She wants to study communication and eventually work for a nonprofit when she graduates.
