JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bishop Kenny High School Senior, John Wolford broke the state record for career touchdown passes tonight. And they beat Baker County with a score of 38 to 20.

Like any proud father, Robert Wolford loves to brag about his kids. He shared photos of one of his star football players, his youngest son John.

"He's always been a hard worker," said Wolford. "He's always had an affinity for playing quarterback."

John hit the football field at just 10-years-old. And his dad says with good coaching and a strong work ethic he knew that his boy could one day make his mark.

Now standing over six feet tall with the number 10 on his jersey as a senior quarterback at Bishop Kenny High, tonight he broke the state of Florida record for career touchdown passes. It now stands at 113.

"I woke up this morning at about five and felt like I was going to vomit," said Wolford.

This father of three admits he lets his nerves get the best of him at times. But before John hits the field his dad says a prayer.

"I always bless him with holy water the night before a game," said Wolford.

His blessings have worked. Wolford has not one but two standout football players in the family. Bobby Wolford once played with his brother at Bishop Kenny.

"He's playing football for Boston College which is exciting," said Wolford. "He got a scholarship which is nice so that's one tuition I don't have to pay for."

Make that two, John is expected to sign with East Carolina University. But no matter how far his sons may make it in the sport Wolford says he'll always see them as his baby boys

"I'll never forget watching him throw the ball to his brother," said Wolford. "That's a memory as a parent you never forget. I'm very proud of both of them."
