BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. -- A man was arrested for DUI Tuesday after allegedly failing a traffic stop.
According to a Bradford County Sheriff's Office Facebook post, at about around 12:50 p.m. Deputy Brian Melvin attempted a traffic stop of vehicle allegedly speeding near SR 100 West and Bayless Highway
The driver, identified in the post as William Lee Starling, allegedly did not stop and continued driving east towards Starke, Fla. Sgt. Gordon called the vehicle pursuit off due to congested traffic.
To prevent an accident deputies and Starke Police officers stopped motorist at the main intersections.
The post says, Deputy Joseph Shiller deployed "stop sticks", flattening two of the suspects tires. At the intersection of Water and South St. Starling allegedly ran from the vehicle.
Deputy Melvin chased Starling for a short distance before apprehending him.
Starling is in the Bradford County Jail and is charged with DUI and fleeing and eluding.
