CRESCENT BEACH, Fla. -- A man died at the hospital after being pulled from the Atlantic waters of Crescent Beach Wednesday evening.
According to St. Johns County Fire Rescue, crews responded to the beach north of the Matanzas Avenue Beach Ramp in Crescent Beach around 4:15.
A resident, who lost sight of a man for 10 minutes, called 911 to report the incident.
Marine Rescue watercraft were launched and the victim -- a man approximately 60-year-old -- was located at 4:45 p.m. in knee deep water about 200 yards north of the beach ramp, according to SJCFR.
Paramedics provided advanced cardiac life support to the victim, who was discovered in cardiac arrest.
The victim was transported to Flagler Hospital in critical condition and later died.
No other injuries were reported.
