Police responded to attempted child abduction report

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Police responded to reports of a possible child abduction attempt Friday morning.

According to a release from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, two female students were walking to Cedar Hills Elementary around 8:49 a.m. when an older man allegedly got out of a pick-up truck and started to run towards them.

The girls were in the area of Jammes Road and Arthur Durham Drive when the incident occurred and both girls were able to get to a crossing guard and report what had occurred.

The truck was described as a white Chevrolet S-10 pick-up with black rims and no hubcaps.

Anyone who has any information about the identity of this man is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.
