JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 38-year-old man faces life in prison after pleading guilty to 16 counts in child sex crimes.
Robert Earl Hypes pleaded guilty this week to four counts of attempted sexual battery, eight counts of lewd or lascivious molestation, two counts of sexual battery and two counts of sale, distribution or showing of obscene material to minors, according to the State Attorney's Office.
After an investigation in 2011, police learned of a sexual history between Robert Earl Hypes and three female victims.
Also during the investigation, officials discovered that since 2005 Hypes inappropriately touched and forced sex with the victims, who are now 16 and 15-years-old. In addition, Hypes showed the victims pornographic videos.
Hypes will be sentenced during the week of January 13.
Assistant State Attorneys Rachel Algee and Anna Hixon prosecuted this case.
