LAKE CITY, Fla. - An officer with the Lake City Police Department was arrested and charged with DUI Tuesday night.
Officer Staci Brownfield with the LCPD was involved in single vehicle crash on Southeast Country Club Road at Southeast Buck Glen Tuesday night at 9:28 p.m., according to a release from the LCPD.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office initially responded to the crash, but called the Florida Highway Patrol to investigate after learning Brownfield was an off duty member of the LCPD.
After consenting and performing roadside Field Sobriety Exercises (FSE) and providing a breath sample, Brownfield was arrested. Brownfield blew a .137 and a .133, the release detailed.
Brownfield was charged with driving under the influence and was booked into the Columbia County Detention Center by the Florida Highway Patrol with a $1,000 bond.
The LCPD internal investigation will commence following the completion of the investigation by FHP.
