JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 13-year-old boy was shot in the butt and in his right foot while riding his bike on the Northside Sunday afternoon.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene around 1:10 p.m. in the 2300 block of West 15th Street where the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was treating the minor.
The minor told deputies that he was riding his bike towards Grand Park after leaving Kings Ridge Apartments when he heard five gunshots.
According to JSO, the minor did not see a vehicle and could not provide additional information.
The victim was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life threatening injuries, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Hector Rivera said.
Police have no suspects at this time.
A vehicle left the scene, but police don't know if it was a witness or a suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
