JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A driver died after a "medical episode" caused his truck to crash in the woods off I-295 Tuesday afternoon, troopers said.
Sergeant Dylan Bryan with the Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was driving a large pick-up truck towing a boat south on I-295 about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver was identified as Paul Anthony Moore, 43.
Bryan said Moore suffered an unidentified "medical episode" and sideswiped a small truck in the lane next to him before veering off the road and into the woods.
Moore was taken to UF Health, where he was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported.
The interstate was shut down for an hour after the incident.
