JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A male pedestrian has life threatening injuries after being struck by a car Thursday night.
The pedestrian was walking across Beach Boulevard near the Wal-Mart Supercenter, close to Southside Boulevard when they were struck around 9 p.m.
Witnesses say the female driver had a green light and was going the speed limit when she struck the pedestrian.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Sgt. Danny Williams said, "What pedestrians don't understand is sometimes it's hard to see a pedestrian at night time. They think they can be seen easily ... but sometimes they can be almost invisible to the drivers out there on the street."
The pedestrian was taken to UF Health at Jacksonville. This incident is still under investigation.
