JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A suspicious package caused a partial evacuation of a government building Tuesday.

An unnamed suspect sent a package to Duval County Tax Collector Michael Corrigan containing a suspicious substance, according to Lt. Brett Sharp with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. The package did not contain chemicals or explosives, but the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded, along with a hazmat team and bomb technician.
The package was secured and removed from the building for further testing, but not before causing a partial evacuation of the Yates Building in the 230 block of East Forsyth Street at 11:15 a.m.

Investigators cleared the scene within an hour.

JSO has identified a suspect in this case.
