JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Sitting here trying to type how I feel about my west coast trip to Pasadena, California, gets me all amped up. Chad Cushnir (A.K.A. Cush) and I, will be on a plane bright and early Thursday at 7 a.m.
It's the first time in my career that I'll be covering the BCS National Championship Game and it happens to have two of the most explosive offensive teams in the country going head-to-head. I'll be the first to admit that why I don't have a dog in the fight, it would be nice for Florida State to bring the National Championship back to the sunshine state.
FSU hasn't won a national championship since 1999 and being an almost five year Florida resident they are the home team. Who wouldn't want to see Jameis "Famous Jameis" Winston, the reigning Heisman trophy winner, up close and personal?
Plus, it will be good to talk to Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall. A guy I covered during his high school days at Wilcox County High School in Rochelle, Georgia.
I hope it's a great game, the trip is going to be great no matter the outcome.
