Family of 5 lose home in Monday morning fire

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An early morning fire has displaced a family of five on the Northside.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to the fire around 7:30 a.m. and found flames were already showing. It took crews about ten minutes to extinguish the blaze, according to Tom Francis with JFRD.

No injuries were reported, however three adults and two children were displaced in the fire. The American Red Cross is responding to assist the family.

Investigators on scene believe a space heater near the back of the house may have been the cause of the fire.Jacksonville Fire and Rescue is responding to a house fire on the Northside.

Fire was showing as crews arrived at a home in the 600 block of East 28th Street.
