MACCLENNY, FL -- Deputies say a woman shot her husband to death in Baker County as he left for work early Monday morning.
The shooting happened at a home on John Rowe Road in Macclenny around 5 a.m.
The Baker County Sheriff's Office received a call about a shooting from the couple's teenaged daughter.
Deputies arrived at the home to find 47-year-old Kevin Mark Jackson dead in the front yard.
Authorities arrested 40-year-old Meloney Lee Jackson.
Sheriff Joey Dobson told First Coast News Mrs. Jackson walked behind her husband and shot him, and then stood over his body on the ground and shot him again.
Mr. Jackson was on his way to work at a welding company.
The two had been scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to finalize their divorce.
Mrs. Jackson is now charged with first-degree murder.
The couple's 13-year-old daughter is staying with a longtime babysitter, along with Mrs. Jackson's 16-year-old son from another relationship.
He was not in the home at the time of the shooting.
The sheriff's office says deputies had been called out to the home several times in the past for domestic disturbances, but no one had ever been arrested.
