Jacksonville--It struck me as I watched training camp practice this week and saw no Jerry Porter, no Reggie Williams and no Dennis Northcutt what an opportunity two NFL players have.
Matt Jones and Troy Williamson are both still on this roster and both down to probably their final chance but for different reasons. Both were first round draft picks and both have far underperformed expectations.
Williamson was labeled a "bust" in Minnesota, dropping deep ball after deep ball. He was so bad the Vikings basically gave him to the Jaguars for a late round draft pick.
We all know the story of Jones. First round talent, having so many troubles adapting to the receiver position. His nonchalant seems to not care attitude aside, now he's dealing with a felony arrest during this off-season.
Matt Jones and Troy Williamson are getting a wonderful shot. It's up to both of them to make the best of it. So far, so good, but we are just getting started.
