JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Hundreds of Florida Gators fans showed up at the Avenues Mall Saturday to get an autograph and photos of Tim Tebow.
The University of Florida Gators' star quarterback signed several hundred items at Palm Beach Autographs for about four hours. The store is on the second floor of the Avenues Mall and the line stretched well outside the store.
Autographs went for $160, with some of the proceeds going to his new Tim Tebow Foundation. Tebow said prior to the session, it "was an honor to have people want your autograph and be around you. But it's more special to really just brighten kids' days in really their darkest hour of need, which is a lot of what my foundation is about.
Lupe Reyes was in line at 7:15 a.m., six hours before the event began, and he was the first to get Tebow's autograph on a poster-size photo of the football star.
According to the Florida Times-Union, Mike Luberti and his 12 year-old son Ian flew in from Northhampton, Pa., to get his autograph on a mini-Heisman helmet. They have relatives in Jacksonville.
