PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A family walked into the wooded lot on Kerry Drive in Satsuma Monday afternoon and could be heard wailing from the road.
Moments later, they emerged holding onto each other, crying out, "Why?" and "Who could've done this?"
They had just seen the spot where their loved one, 33-year-old Zenovia King, was found dead.
Denosa Addison is King's sister. Crying, she said, "I just keep praying that whoever did this, they find and they really make him pay."
Monday afternoon, investigators confirmed the body is that of King from Crescent City.
His family said he was last seen Tuesday, but they had waited to report him missing until Saturday.
They waited "because we had gotten other phone calls saying he was supposed to be in Palm Coast, so we had our hopes up high that he was actually in Palm Coast," Addison said.
Hancel Woods with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said some of those living on the rural but residential, Kerry Drive started to notice a bad odor and went into the wooded lot Saturday to investigate. Woods said the neighbors thought they would find a dead animal, but they found a dead man instead.
Investigators said the body was badly decomposed. While some believe he was burned, investigators said he was not.
Woods said the autopsy Monday did not reveal a cause of death. Investigators are now waiting on toxicology results. Investigators cannot determine yet if King was murdered.
However, his family thinks he was, and they want investigators to find the person who did this.
Theresa Dock, another of King's sisters said, "Whoever it is, I hope they can't sleep. When they close their eyes, I hope they see him."
If you know anything that could help the investigation, call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8477). You will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
