BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - A 33-year-old man charged with murder and child cruelty in the death of a 17-month-old girl has been released on bond set by a judge who cited the defendant's medical condition.
The Glynn County sheriff's office says 33-year-old Daryl Keon Jones of Brunswick was released on $35,000 bond on Wednesday.
Jones is charged with the death of Brianna Kichelle Hester, who died of head injuries on May, 1, 2009.
Authorities say Jones has undergone kidney dialysis regularly while in jail.
The Florida Times-Union reports that Debra Hester, whose daughter, Kim Hester, was the child's mother, expressed concern that Jones was ordered to live with his grandmother, a short distance from her home.
Jones will be under house arrest and must wear an ankle bracelet with a monitoring system and global positioning system locator device.
