MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- The parking lot of the Clay Hill Baptist Church was crowded this morning with dozens of vehicles as mourners gathered to say goodbye to James Coody.
Coody, 21, was one of two men shot to death Monday morning following a possible family dispute, police said. Raymond Kilgore, a friend of Coody's also was killed, and police have been searching for Kilgore's brother Christopher as a suspect.
Among the vehicles in the church parking lot, some had personal tributes and messages to Coody painted on the windows.
Inside, Coody was in an open, light blue casket. Ushers passed out memorial pamphlets that offered congregants Bible scripture.
The service was expected to be extensive, as the congrgation was invited to file passed the casket. Burial will be after the service at Longbranch Cemetery.
Coody had just turned 21 in August.
