JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A man was arrested today in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in January.
Adam Shepard, 30, wanted in connection with the car wreck Jan. 22, was arrested in the Chicago area today by U.S. Marshals on a warrant of leaving the scene of a traffic crash causing death.
He will be extradited to Duval County, according to Jacksonville Beach Sgt. Thomas Bingham.
The vehicle police believe Shepard was in during the crash, a 2005 Acura with Florida tag 925IRG, was found earlier in Kansas.
He is accused of hitting 35-year-old Spencer Schott behind the Salvation Army on Beach Boulevard two weekends ago.
Schott went to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
