PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- A "he said-she said" incident over sex and money ended with one man's arrest Tuesday night.
According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, a female reported being kidnapped and forced to perform sex acts at a house in Welaka.
She told police she had been kidnapped at knifepoint near Daytona Beach and driven to the home on Strawberry Lane.
She reported being tied up in the garage, tortured and forced to perform certain acts on the man who took her. She said he seemed to be on drugs and had "gone crazy."
Deputies noticed red marks on her wrists, but no other obvious signs of injury.
The deputies staked out the house and waited for the man to appear, which he did a short time later.
The man, 44-year-old Elmer Bowman, told the deputies he "never thought this would happen," and that he was just trying to get some companionship that evening.
He said he saw the woman walking on the side of the road and felt sorry for her, so he offered to take her home so she could wash her clothes, take a bath and eat.
Bowman said she then told him she would perform sex acts for money, according to a police report, and that she became enraged when he said he wasn't looking for a prostitute.
He said she then stormed out, taking his wallet, which the deputies found at the end of his driveway.
While the investigation is continuing, Bowman was arrested on felony charges of kidnapping and sexual battery, and is being held without bond.
